Classes in our centres

Want to bring some fun into your fitness routine then why not take part in a group exercise class. Social and structured – that’s two of the best things about classes. You are connected to a group of likeminded people and its a great place to interact and make friends. Classes are also already designed for you, so all you need to do is turn up and follow the instructions.

Our memberships give you free access to classes. If you don’t have a memberships you can also book and pay for a class when you fancy. Contact us to find out which is the best option for you.

Virtual studios and exercise classes

Abbey and Peterlee Leisure Centres have instructor led and virtual studios. The virtual studio features over 100 exercise classes each week. Bookable as normal through the timetable, everything from spinning to Pilates and Yoga will be on offer. Instead of a coach in the room, the class will be hosted by a virtual coach projected on screen. The format’s just the same though, as the virtual coach will lead you through all the moves and motivate you to keep going throughout the whole workout.

To give you that 24 hour experience we also have a range of virtual classes available on the Technogym app which is an added extra when you take out a membership.

There are hundreds of pre-recorded classes from the fitness experts at Technogym alongside the familiar faces of our fitness instructors and coaches from our leisure centres.

We’ve also introduced a range of hybrid classes so you can take part in a live class at home.

Move classes (gentle exercise)

If you’re looking for something a little more gentle to get you moving then try our Move classes. All the classes are at a beginners level and you can take as many rests as you need.
