About Spennymoor Leisure Centre
Spennymoor Leisure Centre is proud to offer County Durham’s only wave pool and water slide with play water features, along with a cutting-edge gym, studio, sports hall, multi-sensory room, and gymnastics centre. Exciting additions still to come, including a new café and soft play area. Guaranteed to enhance your experience.
Spennymoor Library is also located within the leisure centre.
Gym
Whether you’re new to fitness or a regular user, the gym at Spennymoor offers a variety of equipment including cardio, strength and free weights. The site also has Tanita body scales which can help you track ten different measurements, like muscle mass, to support your fitness journey. Our friendly team are also on hand to offer advice and motivation to help you reach your goals.

Swimming

Seaside, Wave & Slide
Description:
Exclusive to Spennymoor Leisure Centre, in these sessions you, your family and friends can come along and have lots of fun including the Waves, slide and Seaside Splash Zone.
Admissions policy:
Children under four years of age must be accompanied on a one adult to one child basis. Children aged four to seven years old, one adult can accompany two children. Children who are eight years and older can be admitted to a swimming pool without an accompanying responsible adult but should be able to swim 25 meters confidently.
Seaside Splashtots
Description:
In these sessions you, your baby or toddler can come along and enjoy the water in the shallow end of the pool and have lots of fun with toys. At Spennymoor this includes the Seaside Splash Zone. These sessions are aimed at 0-4 years.
Admissions policy:
1 responsible adult can accompany 2 children under the age of four.
Seaside Swim
Description:
Exclusive to Spennymoor Leisure Centre, in these sessions you, your family and friends can come along and enjoy the water including Seaside Splash Zone.

Seaside Splashability
Description:
Seaside Splashability sessions provide an opportunity for disabled children, young people and adults to take part in a fun exercise whilst improving their confidence in the water. At Spennymoor this includes the use of the Wave, slide and Seaside Splash Zone.
If the accompanying adult is a carer, they can attend this session free of charge providing they hold a carers card.

Multi-sensory room
Tranquil, relaxing yet still visually stimulating, the multi-sensory room at Spennymoor offers an immersive experience which develops the senses. With a hoist providing access to all areas, the space is accessible to all. The centre also has a Changing Places facility.
