Getting into cycling (adults only)

  • Learn to ride: If you cannot ride a bike but would like to learn then this is the course for you. Our experienced instructors will encourage and help you, and teach you new skills. You’ll learn how to develop balance, confidence and skills to enable you to comfortably ride a short distance. We can lend you a bike and helmet free of change for the course sessions.
  • Back on your bike: If you can ride a bike but would like to refresh your skills before venturing out then this is the course for you. You’ll be taken through how to correctly fit your helmet, pre-ride safety checks and basic maintenance and be given practical tips on safe braking, steering and gear changes. At the end you’ll then venture out on a short, off road guided ride. We can lend you a bike and helmet free of charge for the session.
  • Sofa to cycle: If you can ride a bike but would like to refresh your skills, build up your confidence and stamina whilst enjoying a social ride each week then this is the course for you. You’ll be taken through how to correctly fit your helmet, pre-ride safety checks and basic maintenance and be given practical tips on safe braking, steering and gear changes. You’ll also take part in rides which start at a gentle pace in a quiet traffic free environment, building up to moderate pace cycling on quiet roads. The beginner’s rides will gradually increase in time and distance as the course progresses. We can lend you a bike and helmet free of charge for the course sessions.
