Move walking options (adults only)

  • Gentle Steps: Joining one of our Gentle Steps to Walking sessions is a great first step to a more active lifestyle. These walks take place in a flat, enclosed safe environment and are supported by our friendly team. You can walk at your own pace and rest whenever you need to. Gentle Steps walks are great for helping you to build up your confidence and activity levels at your own pace.
  • Wellbeing Walk (60 minutes): These short walks will ease you back into our walking programme. All the routes are on a flat paths and are at a gentle pace. They are led by our friendly trained instructors.
  • Wellbeing Walks (90 minutes): These walks cover different terrain and routes are relatively flat. However, some routes may include slopes, steps, uneven surfaces and stiles. They are led by our friendly trained instructors.

If you don’t know where to start we can also offer you a dedicated one to one support service which allows you to receive tailored advice on how to move more.

Move activities membership

If you’d like to take part in a Move activity, like a Move fitness class or a Move running, walking or cycling session then apply today for a membership. It’s free and you can do it online. Once you have your membership number you can book activities online. You can collect your card from a leisure centre, a sign up session or an activity leader.

Beyond Move walking

There are lots of other ways to start walking, by yourself, with an app or other guided walks. If you want to join other walking groups you can check out the Ramblers or guided walks.
