Taster Sessions

Try something new and empowering with Durham Roller Derby Club. These free beginner-friendly sessions teach the basics of roller derby in a fun, supportive environment. Perfect for building confidence, teamwork, and fitness.

Women’s Taster Sessions

Delivered by Lambton Rowing Club, these free sessions introduce women to rowing in a relaxed and social setting. Learn the basics, improve your strength and enjoy being active together.

Fun, friendly, and welcoming, these free sessions in partnership with England Netball are ideal for women getting back into the game or trying it for the first time. Develop skills, meet others, and enjoy playing.

Womens walking football

Low-impact and social, these walking football sessions run in partnership with Durham FA. Great for all abilities, offering a fun way to get moving and connect with other women.

All sessions are free throughout March, with no booking required – just turn up and play.

Women’s Recreational Football – Kick About

Come and try recreational football – kick about sessions in partnership with Durham FA and Brandon Community Football Club. Designed for women who might not usually play regular football, these sessions are a fun way to get active, enjoy the game, and meet new people.

Ladies’ Golf Taster Day

Fancy giving golf a go? Come along to a free ladies taster day with Ramside Golf Club.
Whether you already play or you’re a complete beginner, this relaxed and friendly session is a great chance to try something new, have some fun and meet other women.

Come with friends or on your own, you’ll be made very welcome. The session will finish with tea, coffee and cake, giving you time to chat and unwind together.

Session information:
• Ramside Golf Club – Monday 9 March, 1–3pm

What to bring:
• Bring your own clubs if you have them — a selection will also be provided
• Wear trainers and warm, comfortable clothing, as activities will take place both outdoors and on the driving range

Fun, friendly, and welcoming, these sessions are delivered by female coaches from Topspin Table Tennis Club and are designed for different participants and abilities.

Women & Girls Taster Session
Ideal for women and girls trying table tennis for the first time or looking to develop their skills. Enjoy being active, gain confidence, and meet others in a friendly, beginner-focused environment.

Supportive Community Taster
A relaxed, supportive introduction to table tennis for people living with dementia, Parkinson’s, or other long-term conditions, and their carers.
