We offer hoists or beach entry and adaptable wheelchairs for our swimming pools. Sites also have accessible changing facilities and Changing Places at Freemans’ Quay, the Louisa Centre, Spennymoor and Newton Aycliffe.

Splashability sessions provide an opportunity for disabled children, young people and adults to take part in an exclusive swimming session if you live in County Durham. The sessions take place at the Louisa Centre and Peterlee.

Seaside Splashability sessions are for anyone with a special education or disability need, and their carers and family. At Spennymoor this includes the use of the Wave, slide and Seaside Splash Zone.

If the accompanying adult is a carer, they can attend this session free of charge providing they hold a Durham County Council carers card.
